The Extra Sensory Objects blog was originally created to showcase ideas for sensory devices related to the Sensory Objects project. This was a three-year AHRC funded project that researched methods for making multisensory interactive objects that replicate or respond to artworks or other objects of cultural significance in our national collections.
Whilst the Sensory Objects project has officially finished, its legacy continues and now forms a foundation for some of the projects being explored at the Rix Inclusive Research Institute. In particular, the Sensory Labels work that evolved from a series of workshops held at Rix, and included a group of co-researchers from Tower Hamlets, is ongoing and in the process of its next iteration.
Visit the Extra Sensory Objects blog to see some of the current Rix projects (works in progress), particularly those related to Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
